One century can change a lot
A century ago, the U.S. was a manufacturing juggernaut, selling its products all over the globe. Now? A sobering article you can read here.
Why this fascination with "manufacturing?" As if we aren't really doing anything worthwhile by developing software or synthesizing drugs and chemicals because they aren't being done with a hammer and a C clamp. Manufacturing is going away: that doesn't correlate to our prosperity doing the same.
Manufacturing is going away - how much , then, does it correlate? Is there zero impact? Can the U.S. have exactly zero manufacturing and still do well?
Bin Laden's death, less than 24 hours in, looks a little suspect. A marine in my class told me about the bullets the military uses these days. One shot, let alone two, and the head is gone. Too quick on the dna confirmation too. Convenient the body is gone.
Completely agree. Someone, or a bunch of someone's are lying. If he is dead, he's either been dead or someone else got him. As far as legislation, they should be voting on if they want to raise the debt ceiling and I know some people in congress are trying for a balanced budget amendment. But they must be doing something in the wings with all this smoke and mirror crap.

ReplyDeleteRegulation and anti-corporate legislation will harm manufacturing in this country first and foremost. This should not come as a surprise...
