U.S. shoots itself in the foot once again

History shows that most, if not all, of U.S. intervention abroad eventually comes back to haunt us. As you read this article, ask yourself if it is happening once again. Have we actually made Iran stronger and in a better position than they were in five years ago? Is this yet another example of the U.S. shooting itself in the foot?

US general says we cannot leave Iraq else the consequences will be bad.
Talking about war. Two things that need some short and long term thinking. One, to invade another country needs some planning. The other is to destroy the country's infrastructure and police/army forces. Add to that the civilian armies of war lords. Makes me wonder how did the US war thinking expected to rebuild Iraq before leaving?
During battles sometimes it is necessary to retreat. Perhaps we should talk about retreating from Iraq.

The sad thing is that McRelic said the other day he doesn't mind launching pre-emptive wars. Scary. And that was wars, with an s - plural!
