The government run schools have been failing for almost a century. The title of this article just shows us that this is China's century - get used to it. Well, at least we had a century - a lot of countries can't say that. Bulgaria never had a century. Chile never had a century. You get the point.
Let's be nice to China and keep trading. After all, they can put an army on the ground the size of our population and still have over 1 billion people back at home!
In a civilized society, should anyone or any government ever force anyone to do anything against his or her will as long as that person does not infringe upon the life, liberty, or property of another?

After financial war, the real war
As the United States causes financial havoc with the rest of the world, other countries are making moves on their own to help their economies. As reported in the Wall Street Journal on Oct. 8th, in September China supported a Russian proposal to start direct trading between the yuan and the ruble. China has also set up a similar deal with Brazil.
Also, Premier Jiabao Wen was in Istanbul to reach an agreement with Turkey to use their own currencies (no U.S. dollar included) in tripling trade to $50 billion over the next five years. According to Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan: "We are forming an economic strategic partnership . . . In all of our relations, we have agreed to use the lira and the yuan."
So much for the U.S. being the world's central bank. As these types of moves continue (who can blame other countries, since our economy is a wreck), the U.S. will become increasingly upset. Don't forget, the U.S. government doesn't like to lose at anything, especially a financial war.
So the question is: When does the U.S. launch a real war against China, since China will ultimately win the financial war?

China vs. U.S. - eventually it will happen
As it was in the schoolyard, so it will be globally. Eventually, the two big kids on the block go toe to toe to see who's top dog. China's navy and armed forces, in reaction to our global presence, have been growing steadily. As you can read in this article, the first testing ground is the South China Sea.
Sadly, some 10 to 15 years from now, the U.S. will launch on China. The reasons? Well, we're broke, and we'll be in worse shape then. And what better way to distract us from that drafty bridge we're living under or that overcrowded tent city than to attack the "bad guys."
The question is: Will you still be here in the the empire, or by then will you be safely tucked away off the grid?
Amazingly, Pax Americana is melting right before our eyes, just like Pax Romana.

The American Empire not making friends
As you can read in this article, China and Russia are forging closer ties. This is in response to the Einstein's in Washington, D.C., who continue to grow the empire. You know, I don't remember reading it in the Constitution that the U.S. should have over 700 bases around the world and should spend more money on defense than the rest of the world combined.
I'm tired of my fellow Americans dying for empire, and I'm tired of paying for it. And God help us if McCain wins the presidency in a few months. Based on what I've read, he'll make Bush look like an altar boy.

It was fun while it lasted
Well, at least we had a century. Yes, the 20th century was America's. This country dominated, pretty much, the entire century. But, we let our unfettered free market get hammered by taxation and regulation. And, beginning in 1913, we began to print money through the Federal Reserve and whack away at the gold standard. Now our money is not backed by anything and the dollar is worth only 4 cents.
The bottom line? Unless we embrace unbridled free market capitalism again, and limit the two things that destroy wealth faster than anything else, taxation and regulation, we're done. Read this article that posted on prudentbear.com today. The European Union and China may be eating our lunch sooner than we think.

U.S. dollar strong?
A few weeks ago, the Canadian dollar reached parity with the U.S. dollar - the first time since 1976. Our dollar has dropped that much against some other currencies like the euro and yuan. I found an interesting article on prudentbear.com - a major U.S. investor wants to cash in all his U.S. dollars for the Chinese yuan.
Interesting what he says about nine paragraphs down - that China will be the most important country of the 21st century. Hmm, I think I remember that Ron Paul is the only candidate from either party that ever mentions our perilous financial system. And isn't he the one that had been getting in former Fed Chairman Alan Greespan's face all these years? Yes, because Paul understands economics and he knows we're headed for a meltdown.
