In a civilized society, should anyone or any government ever force anyone to do anything against his or her will as long as that person does not infringe upon the life, liberty, or property of another?

Grandma arrested for buying cold medicine - she must have thought she was free

Thanks to lewrockwell.com for posting about this story from Indiana. As you can read here, people in Indiana must be careful about purchasing drugs. This poor lady must have thought she was in America, not the Union of Amerikan Socialist Republics.

Hi Mr. Scott,

A noteworthy professor once said "the bailout will be an unmitigated disaster." What do you think about it now? What about the Patriot Act? Wasn't that part of the change we were promised? I can't wait to upgrade our health care to the Russian system. Will there even be cold medicine on the shelf for Grandma to buy?

The bailout's effects will last a long time, especially the inflation that's on the way. Cold medicine for grandma? Probably not!

Hello,

Do you the H1N1 virus is just a hoax and a way to frighten the public so the government can become more powerful thru fear...hint Adolf lighting the Reichstag on fire.

I don't think H1N1 is a hoax, but it's nothing to worry about if you're healthy. It's no more dangerous than the regular flu, which to me is nothing. You go to bed for a week, drink plenty of water, and let your immune system defeat the germs!

This is only the tip of the brutal iceberg of "drug laws." Drug laws my ass. The war on drugs has gotten so out of control that it makes me want to chew through wood.

Arresting Grandma is just the start. Many states have been taking suspected drunken/high/generally screwed up drivers and forcing blood draws and even forcing catheterization. One guy in Indiana was given a breath test, that he passed, and was still taken to the hospital where they had to strap him down to take blood and to force the catheter inside of him. Guess what? He was clean! He was clean on the damn breath test! And...this is the best part: he was still arrested for obstruction of justice!

And guess what? They are going to do the SAME thing in Houston this Spring break, especially on St. Patrick's day. So be on the look out for DUI check points and medical personnel ready to shove a tube anywhere they damn well please. And if you think that a catheter tube is small...that's definitely not the case. I volunteer at hospitals in my off time and i can guarantee you that IT WILL HURT. BADLY.

And yes...they actually have warrants to do this to people. So it's "legal."
