Terrorists are after the nation that has almost 800 military installations around the world. Terrorists are after the nation that has a military presence in 130+ countries. Terrorists are after a nation that sends predator and reaper drones into countries we're not at war with to murder innocent men, women, and children.
As you can read here, the U.S. killing machine marches on with Obama at the helm. Where's the outrage from the Left? Does anyone actually think that there's any good to come out of Afghanistan and Pakistan? Time to leave the empire and become an ex-pat. Wouldn't it be better to be an ex-pat than a hypocrite voting for and supporting the regime?
In a civilized society, should anyone or any government ever force anyone to do anything against his or her will as long as that person does not infringe upon the life, liberty, or property of another?

More eyes and ears
Unfortunately, the U.S. government continues to grow, increasing its presence in our daily lives. Some of the American sheeple called for a consumer protection agency, and we got one. You can read about it here. Notice the paragraph titled "More eyes and ears." Americans will notify this new agency about the "bad guys" who are charging too much for services. More spying. First it was the government telling us to be alert and to report suspicious activity to thwart terrorism. Now this. Why can't all the busybodies, nags, and control freaks just leave us alone? They should worry about their own lives. The book 1984 should have been title 2011.

Shut, locked, barricaded, bolted
When governments large and small use Keynesian economics and violate the property rights of citizens, bad things happen. Hundreds if not thousands of municipalities, and states as well, are going broke. As you can read here, a city official of this small Michigan town said they'd hang on until the doors were "shut, locked, barricaded, and bolted."
This is just a preview of the entire country. As China, India, Russia, Brazil and dozens of other countries lose their appetite for U.S. debt, the U.S. inches closer and closer to insolvency. Get ready to mow empty lots, dispose of garbage, put out fires, and police your own streets. It's going to get ugly.

Office of Foods
Only the government can create something so silly as the Office of Foods. God forbid our omnipotent government lets farmers grow what they want, which would be dicated by demands from consumers in a free market. No, no, no, say the government control freaks, busybodies, and nags, we, the all-powerful state, must check out everything so everyone is safe.
Gee, I wonder how George Washington and Thomas Jefferson lived so long without the Office of Foods checking their meals?

Obamacare trailer
I love movie trailers - they give you an enticing quick look at a movie. This article is like a movie trailer - it gives us a quick look at the current and future healthcare system in the United States.
As was expected, Medicaid is now struggling mightily to cover costs and provide services. And enrollment has grown steadily as the recession continues. Once the full Obamacare health plan is implemented in three years, the enrollment will swell, the costs will rise, and the services will decrease.
This is why Austrian economics is so important. Only the Austrians have been predicting the horror that is now healthcare. You may not be feeling it yet, but you will. The home of the Austrians on the web is mises.org.

Typical government run program
See what happens when the government gets involved in something - it fails. As you can read here, state governments are going broke and the people suffer. If I could only go back in a time machine to 1965 and warn Lyndon Johnson about signing into law Medicare and Medicaid.

Government mishandles registrations - for planes!
You'd think the ever-efficient government (sarcasm there) would be able to handle the paperwork for plane registrations, but obviously they can't. As you can read here, there are thousands of planes with missing paperwork, questionable registrations, and so on. Is there anything the government does right? It's time to privatize the FAA and all the airports so we'll be safer.

American teens gets crushed
The government run schools have been failing for almost a century. The title of this article just shows us that this is China's century - get used to it. Well, at least we had a century - a lot of countries can't say that. Bulgaria never had a century. Chile never had a century. You get the point.
Let's be nice to China and keep trading. After all, they can put an army on the ground the size of our population and still have over 1 billion people back at home!

Thou shalt not read the truth!
Amazing. The government has ordered its workers not to read what the government has produced. Must be too embarrassing. Everyone else can read it, I guess, but not government workers. If I was a federal employee, I'd want to read everything - maybe I'd be looking for my name in there somewhere. Read the article here. And sshhhh. Don't tell anyone I told you - it's a secret.
