Another "great" government program is almost insolvent

Virtually all government programs have two distinct characteristics: they are not well thought out, and they violate the property rights of American citizens. Read here about such a program, which is almost insolvent. Government can only give to one what it takes from another, as in this program, and thus violates our property rights. After the revolution, let's make sure we don't include any of these cranky programs again.

Govt delcares war on poverty 45 years ago - now 50 million Americans are poor

Since the government fails at everything they do, the title of this post should be no suprise. Back in 1965, Lyndon Johnson, one of the worst presidents in history, declared a "war on poverty." 45 years later, more Americans are poor (over 50 million) than ever before in history. Government giving away our money

As reported on CNN, the federal government fails miserably at keeping an eye on our tax dollars. The government admits that in 2009 it wasted $110 billion of our dollars. The waste? Some of the money went to the wrong people. Over a three year period, $180 million went to 20,000 dead people, and $230 million went to 14,000 fugitive or incarcerated felons. Fed up? As we all know, the government fails at everything they do.

Yet another massive government failure

Somehow, the U.S. government got into the business of telling us what we can and cannot put into our bodies. And of course, they are hypocritical about it - "allowing" us to drink alcohol while refusing other drugs.

But their efforts have done lots of good, right? Think again. As you can read here, they've accomplished nothing. Can we have our trillion dollars back?

Government failure once again

The government fails at everything they do. Yet another example is the Hanford nuclear site in the state of Washington. Once a site to produce nuclear material for the empire, it is now 600 acres of nuclear waste, millions of gallons of contaminated water, and underground tanks that are full of nuclear sludge. This site will take billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars and years to clean up.

Can you imagine the ruckus in Washington D.C. if a private company had done all this? But since it was a government operation, the liars and thugs inside the beltway are silent. Yet every day, more of the sheeple call for more "government solutions." What a joke.

Government water unsafe for kids to drink

I'm always amazed how people, when I engage them in a political discussion, defend the government. This defense in spite of the fact that the government fails at everything they do. As you can read in this article, the government can't even provide safe drinking water to our nation's kids while they're at school.

Can you imagine the outcry in the Congress if this water was provided by a private company?

No private sector growth

When the government taxes and regulates too much at the same time they print money out of thin air, disaster ensues. As reported in today's Wall Street Journal, there has been no private sector growth for jobs in the past ten years. The overall number of jobs increased because the government hired more tax feeders. Unbelievable. No new private sector jobs in America for a decade? Ya think it's time to get the government out of the economy?

Still want government to protect you?

As I've said and posted many times before, the government fails at everything they do. They failed to stop loons from flying planes into buildings and the Pentagon on 9/11, and they still can't protect us in federal buildings. As you can see in this article, bomb-making materials were smuggled into federal buildings. When is the public going to get it? The government can't protect us, we must protect ourselves.

Thugs for hire

The low-paid bureaucrats who man the airports to allegedly protect us from terrorists have found the ultimate agency to wield power and embarrass citizens. They must go home each night giddy about how they've abused and embarrassed the very citizens who pay their salaries.

In this article, a nun had to try for nine months to get her name off the no-fly list. Read at the end of the article how she made a comment to one of the thugs and was then threatened with arrest.

It's time to let the airlines handle their own security, sell off the airports, abolish the FAA, and privatize the air traffic controllers. A true free market in air travel would benefit us all with lower prices and being treated with respect as paying customers.

They're not careful because it's not their money

Entrepreneurs have balance sheets, profit and loss statements, etc. to keep an eye on their money. But government agencies have budgets. They spend more than they have, and they don't keep an eye on the money. Why? It's not their money, so they don't care how it's spent.

As you can read in this article, here's yet another example of how the government spends billions of our dollars but really can't account for it. Hmm, I wonder how long McDonalds would have stayed in business if they treated their accounting this way?

The omnipotent state strikes again

The omnipotent power of the state strikes again. This time, they hauled off a 5 year old boy in handcuffs. Misbehaving in school? No need to call the parents, just handcuff the lad and cart him off to the psych ward at the local hospital. Of course, he must be nuts to refute and protest the treatment received at the hands of the New York City Babysitting District. Read the article here.

The government can't even rebuild firehouses. Amazing article that shows the State of Louisiana/New Orleans governments are unable to rebuild a single firehouse destroyed by Katrina. Unbelievable.
