In a civilized society, should anyone or any government ever force anyone to do anything against his or her will as long as that person does not infringe upon the life, liberty, or property of another?

Government mishandles registrations - for planes!

You'd think the ever-efficient government (sarcasm there) would be able to handle the paperwork for plane registrations, but obviously they can't. As you can read here, there are thousands of planes with missing paperwork, questionable registrations, and so on. Is there anything the government does right? It's time to privatize the FAA and all the airports so we'll be safer.

I think it's just stupid that registrations don't have to be done yearly for aircraft. I would never allow that if i had a private company and the FAA didn't exist. I used to keep all kinds of records for aircraft. It's not that damn hard. And if small private companies replaced the FAA, it wouldn't happen. And if it did, it would be a very very small number.

Mechanics are registered for life too. We never have to retest, not even if we move to another aircraft (say, to helicopters or propeller aircraft). So i'm sure it's only a matter of time before they start loosing all of our personal information as well. Oh yeah, two guesses as to what our registration numbers are! It's only the worst possible thing it could be!
