In a civilized society, should anyone or any government ever force anyone to do anything against his or her will as long as that person does not infringe upon the life, liberty, or property of another?

A blog for those relatively new at exploring the world of politics. It's also for those who want to discuss U.S. politics, history, economics, and our country's current state of affairs.

It's unfortunate that the "death of the empire" will be mourned by the American people. We, the common citizenry, have been duped and sold out by a 186-year-old foreign policy that serves only to protect the interests of the most elite while shifting the burden of it on the rest of us. I celebrate the decrease of our global power, as it brings with it a necessary increase in diplomacy, more distributed global wealth and prosperity, the decrease of our military, and consequently more efficacy for the common person in our taxes.
